Youth Ministry
Jr. High EDGE is a Catholic middle school youth ministry experience created for early adolescents in grades seven and eight. Jr. High EDGE is designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of young adolescents. All 7th and 8th-grade students from the parish are welcome to come and bring a friend. At this age, middle school youth are open to good and bad behaviors as well as positive and negative ideas. Many of the values and beliefs that they held as children are now questioned and challenged. As young adolescents, they are trying to figure out who they are and what they believe. In many respects, middle school kids are on the edge because so much is going on in their lives physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. It can be a very stressful and difficult time for them and their parents. As a Catholic Community, we are going to give our middle school youth The EDGE they need in life: Jesus, The Word, The Eucharist, and the Church! Within the context of faith, Jr. High teens are moving from a child-like spirituality to faith of a disciple who truly knows and wants to follow Jesus.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Volunteers are practicing confirmed Catholics who feel called to assist the priest and serve their fellow parishioners by distributing the Precious Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Volunteers can choose to serve at Mass, communion services, and/or take communion to those confined by illness or disability.

These ministers proclaim the Word of God at Mass and read the Prayers of the Faithful.  Any confirmed Catholic is eligible to read at Mass.

Ministers of Hospitality (Ushers)
Volunteers greet parishioners and visitors before Mass, collect the Mass offerings, and distribute the Annals after Mass. Volunteers are scheduled in teams and serve for one month each quarter.

These volunteers are children in grades 6 through 12 who assist the priest during Mass. Training is provided before any volunteer is scheduled.

One volunteer is scheduled for each Mass to prepare all that is needed for the celebration of the Eucharist.  This includes the setting of the credence table with the sacred vessels, preparation of the offertory gifts, and ensuring that the ministries of the Mass are filled by volunteers.  After Mass, the sacristan will ensure that all the vessels are properly cleaned and put away.

Music Ministries
Our Lady of Lourdes has a variety of music groups that are open to parishioners of all ages. Volunteers minister at Masses throughout the year and are under the supervision of the parish music director. Vocalists and instrumentalists are always needed.

Adult Choir practices on Thursday evenings from 7-9pm and includes those high-school age and older.

Cantors lead the congregational singing at each Mass. Rehearsal is usually during the hour before Mass.

Folk Group is comprised of instrumentalists and vocalists high-school age and older. Rehearsal is once a week and they minister at approximately one Mass per month.

Prayers of the Faithful Writers
Individuals, couples, or families who volunteer to write the petitions for Mass. Service is asked for one month each year, and a helpful book with guidelines for the writing of the prayers is circulated among the volunteers.

The following ministries are ministries of the Office of the Sacristan which comprise those which deal with the regular maintenance and cleaning of the church spaces and items used for our liturgies, and those which deal with the nonpermanent decor of the church building.

Servers' Garments
Volunteers launder and press the servers' albs as needed, usually once per month. Repairs are made on an as-needed basis.

Church Linens
Volunteers launder and press the small altar linens used for liturgies once a week.

Church Cleaning
General cleaning of the church is done once weekly by a volunteer team. This includes straightening, dusting, and vacuuming the sanctuary and choir loft. Prior to Christmas and Easter, there is an overall deep cleaning.

Arts & Environment
Volunteers care for the altar cloths and nonpermanent decor of the church building. Volunteers are particularly needed to help with the decorating of the church for the Christmas and Easter seasons, but help is appreciated at any time of the year.
